Iliana Gartziou is an architect who lives and works in Athens, Greece. Having graduated from the department of Economics at the University of Macedonia in 2006, she continued her studies at the National Technical University of Greece and received her diploma as an architect in 2011.
Since then, she has collaborated with various architectural offices working on a broad range of commissions and competition projects. As a freelance architect her portfolio includes a range of residential and commercial projects, set designing for theatre performances and 3d visualisations.
Her philosophy is to create designs inspired by the region’s history, as well as the local architecture and surroundings. Preferring simple shapes and rough materials, Iliana tries to find clear and concise solutions that balance the constraints of the construction with the desired aesthetic and atmosphere, in order to give each project a specific character.
