Set amphitheatrically on a 75-acre estate on the edge of Sounio National Park, Cape Sounio Resort was designed to echo the Attica landscape. The 154 bungalows and villas of the complex were refurbished so as to meet the needs of a luxury resort hotel. Floor-to ceiling windows open out to a patio or a private garden with pool, offering an outstanding view of Neptune’s Temple. Stone, wood and other natural materials imbue the buildings with an air of laidback luxury and timeless aesthetic. Special design features, including a glass boardwalk leading to vistas of the site’s own archaeological ruins, accentuate the potentials of the estate. Indigenous plants were used where possible, adding to the site’s uniqueness while being considerate of the native environment.
